Time To Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Oct 19, 2025
Sunday with Herb

I like daily routines and familiar places. I have found that the older I've gotten, the more set in my ways I've become. I'm retired and I'm in my comfort zone.

Thats a great place to be, but there are dangers to being too complacent.

Your body and mind need an occasional change of pace, some healthy stress to keep growing.

The best way is to learn new things and to adopt new routines.

But learning and doing are two different things.

It's easy to learn something new, but way more difficult to take action on what you learned.

That's why it helps to have a guide and a group of peers on the same journey.

If you  want to continue to enjoy your active running lifestyle as you get older, you gotta keep learning new tricks!

That's why I created the "Forever Running Club".

A space where you can learn what works for us older runners to keep running effortlessly and injury-free as we age.

We have a tight knit group of exprerienced runners who have sage advice to share and the same questions that both you and I may have.

We're in this for the long haul. And I would love you to join us on this journey.

Click this link to check us out.

Hope to see you inside!

Just an easy spin on the stationary bike and some floor exercises. I sit down on the bench and this warm flush comes over me, I get light headed and start to sweat profusely, then the all too familiar chest pain comes on....
What are you training for?
Sunday with Herb Now is usually the time I would be laying out my goal race for next year and other races I may want to do either as training or just fun. In the past, my goal race has been something challenging, like the Teanaway 100 miler I did a couple of years ago, and lately, the Waldo 100K. I made the lottery for Waldo in 2024, but couldn't do it for heart attack recovery reasons and agai...
The Foundation I Wished I'd Built at 60
Dr. Peter Attia's 5 longevity tactics that could have prevented my heart attack Hey runners! I turned 60 and did everything 'right' to level up my running—more miles, harder sessions, bigger goals. The result? A heart attack that nearly ended everything. That disaster taught me what Dr. Peter Attia has been preaching for years. As a longevity expert and author of the best seller book Outllive, ...
