I recently received an email from my mentor, Mark Sisson, founder of the “Primal” movement. I received my Primal Health Certification from him a few years ago which totally changed my approach to running, eating and living in general.
In the email, Mark stated:
“Living Primally isn’t just about eating well and moving more—it’s about cultivating resilience, vitality, and balance in every aspect of life. When you nourish your body with whole, nutrient-dense foods, train with purpose, and carve out time for rest and play, you build a foundation for lifelong wellness.”
In this world of over whelming health and fitness advice, we can all get stuck on specifics and quick fixes that cloud the big picture of our journey of life.
Instead of clamping on the latest fad, focus on these 3 things:
Prioritize daily movement: Incorporate natural, functional movement like walking, squatting, and planking.
Simplify nutrition: Lean toward whole, minimally processed, Primal foods without overcomplicating meal plans.
Prioritize recovery: Remember the importance of sleep, stress management, and restorative practices for body-mind-spirit balance.
Life is much more than your marathon training plan. Play the long game and enjoy freedom, independence and vitality as you age.
